RULES
1. This event is for new cars built for this racing year only.
2. After registration, cars will be taken to the weigh in station located by the track from which the car will be racing. Once the car is officially weighed, the owner will not have access to their car until their car has been eliminated.
3. Maximum weight limit is 5.5 ounces.
4. Maximum width is 2.25 inches.
5. Maximum length is 7.5 inches.
6. Cars must be freewheeling. No propulsion devices.
7. No bearings, bushings, washers, or loose materials of any kind (this restriction does not apply for the Unlimited division).
8. Wheels cannot be modified in shape or size – must be the wheels included in the car kit.
9. Some tracks have guide rails for the car's wheels - it is recommended that weights are not attached to the bottom of the car. Weights should be recessed so they are flush with the bottom of the car body.
10. Double elimination racing process:
Two cars will race at one time. After the first heat, the cars will swap race lanes and race a second heat. If a different car wins each heat then the winner of a coin toss will chose the lane to race on for the final and deciding heat. If the same car wins the first two heats, a third heat is not needed. Cars will be tracked as follows - cars without a loss, cars with one loss, and cars with two losses will be returned to the owner.
- Cars with no losses will race until there is only one car left.
- Cars with one loss will race until there are two cars left. These two cars will
race, with the losing car finishing in 3rd place.
- The final two cars will race for 1st and 2nd place. The car will have to beat
the unbeaten car twice to claim 1st.
Notes:
Label the bottom of each car with the following information: Full Name, Outpost #, and Racing Division.
Please let me know if you have any questions – or, if you want to participate as a racing official.
